Meeting ID: 840 5207 1348
Passcode: 450782

The LOCOMINAR will be presented by Amandine Pastor (FC.ID)

The event will be based on the paper “How uncertainties are tackled in multi-disciplinary science? A review of integrated assessments under global change” published on Catena (Pastor, A. V., Vieira, D. C. S., Soudijn, F. H., & Edelenbosch, O. Y. (2020). How uncertainties are tackled in multi-disciplinary science? A review of integrated assessments under global change. Catena, 186).

Dr. Amandine Pastor will present a study led by her and other three female scientists about “How uncertainties are tackled in multi-disciplinary science? A review to improve integrated assessment under global change” published in 2019 in CATENA. This study was initiated after the latest IPCC assessment was released and where the uncertainty coming from integrated assessments and model results was found still high (Rogelj and Knutti 2016). Uncertainty prevents the implementation of efficient climate mitigation policies. In this study, we present a meta-analysis of methods used for uncertainty analyses (UAs) in integrated assessments (IAs) from around the world. Based on our results, it seems there is no uniform approach to deal with uncertainty in IAs but certain types of UAs are more common in some disciplines e.g. the use of structural UAs in the energy field.
