Short description:

The article presents the discussion about the most relevant achievements of the MEDEAS-World implementation to estimate the future consequences of the decarbonisation policies we choose. The results shows that ‘Degrowth’ scenario is the only one that was found to be compatible with ambitious decarbonisation and realistic technological development paths. The obtained results will be improved by the new LOCOMOTION model, which will be geographically more sensitive and allow more detailed analysis at the national and EU levels, as well as for other regions of the world.
